Impulse candle
A candle with an unusually large body.
A single candle with a body clearly larger than usual — the impulse itself, not what it leaves behind. The body is measured; wicks do not count.
There is no end: "this candle was an impulse" is an event, not a lasting zone.

Neutral: Impulse candle / Impulskerze. ICT keeps the English term Displacement.
Settings
Threshold measured against picks what "unusually large" is compared to. Price (default) reads minimum body as a fraction of close (0.0012, about 12 basis points). Bar range reads it as a multiple of the median candle range over the last reference window candles (1.2 over 20 candles). Raise either to keep only stronger impulses.
The default is a calibration for BTCUSDT on 15 minutes, not a rule from any school — no method names a number here. It is worth knowing what that costs: a fraction of the price stays true across markets, but not across timeframes. The same 12 basis points mark 15 % of the candles on a 15-minute series and 47 % on an hourly one, because the hourly candle is three times as tall and the threshold stayed put. Against the median range the same setting reads 16 % and 11 %.
