Hammer
Lower-wick pin after a decline.
A small body sitting near the high, with a long lower wick, after a decline. Same geometry as Hanging Man; the prior trend is what distinguishes them. Knowable on the pin’s own close. An event — no end.
Settings
Minimum wick and Maximum body are fractions of the bar range.
Prior trend is a number of bars and starts at 2 — under two bars there is
no close-to-close move to read, so there is no position that switches the trend
off. The trend is what tells a hammer from a hanging man; without it the two
mark the same candle.
Minimum prior move is how far that trend has to have travelled, measured
against the pin candle’s own range (default 0.25). At 0 a one-tick drift
counts as a decline.
