Stick Sandwich

Opposite outer bodies whose closes almost match.

Three candles: two bearish outers around a bullish middle, with the first and third closes almost equal. The tolerance is a fraction of the candle range — the widest of the three — not of the price. Knowable on the third close. An event — no end.

The middle candle has to carry a body of its own. A doji between two outers is not a counter-move, and the pattern is about a counter-move that failed.

Bullish only. The upside-down shape — two bullish outers around a bearish middle — used to be marked here as well, under this same name and this same count. It has no established name of its own, and we do not invent one: a concept is a term traders use, not a rule with a label attached. The rule still knows the mirror; we simply do not ship it as a pattern.

Settings

Outer candle minimum body (default 0.3), Middle candle minimum body (default 0.3) and Maximum close deviation (default 0.1) — the last as a share of the widest of the three candle ranges.
