ADX
Trend strength, with the up and down directional lines.
ADX (average directional index) measures how strong a trend is, not which way it points. +DI and −DI show the up and down pressure. DX is the raw gap between them, ADX is that gap smoothed, and ADXR compares the current ADX with the ADX one smoothing-length ago. The pane runs from 0 to 100.
Defaults are 14 for the directional length and 14 for the smoothing.
A rising ADX means the trend is strengthening. Which of +DI or −DI is on top says the direction. Crossing is a common read, not a signal by itself.
Settings: gear on the pane bar — see Indicators.
